✦ CELESTIAL ORDER · SECOND CHOIR ✦
"seat 14 · homeroom 2-C · herald of small mercies"
The classroom is ordinary. Thirty desks, chalk dust, the low hum of a broken ceiling light. And then there is your character — sitting in the third row as if they were placed there rather than choosing it. Still the way only very old things can be still.
Describe the small impossibilities. The way their uniform is always immaculate despite rain, despite wind, despite anything. The warmth that radiates from the seat beside them on the coldest mornings. The fact that, somehow, no one has ever seen them stressed about an exam.
SPOKEN WORD
"Your character's dialogue. Soft but certain. The kind of voice that makes the noise of a room drop half a degree without anyone knowing why. They already know your answer before you give it."
How the other character reacts. Not fear — something softer than that. The inexplicable urge to sit up straighter. To mean what you say. To be, somehow, a slightly better version of yourself.
WHAT ONLY YOU HAVE NOTICED —
The detail no one else has seen. The moment the light moved wrong around their shoulders. The pigeons on the windowsill that watch only them. The single tear-shaped burn on their notebook cover, old as the paper itself.
End on the mundane. They close their textbook. Cap their pen. Ask if you want to share an umbrella. The sky outside is clear. There is no rain in the forecast. You say yes anyway.
