"something wrong with them. always has been."
[ ENTRY — DATE UNKNOWN ]
Something is wrong with the light. Describe it. The specific wrongness — the angle that doesn't match the time of day, the shadow with nothing to cast it. Horror lives in the detail that can't be explained and isn't explained.
Your character. What is it about them that unsettles? Not a monster — something subtler. A stillness. A smile a half-second too slow. The way they already know something they shouldn't.
⚠ SUBJECT DIALOGUE — TRANSCRIBED
"Your character speaks. Horror dialogue works differently — it's what they don't say. The pause. The question answered with a question. The too-calm voice when calm makes no sense."
The other character's reaction. Fear has textures — cold, not numb. Show the body's knowledge before the mind catches up. The hair on the arm. The breath that forgets to happen.
End without resolution. Horror doesn't close — it opens. Leave one image behind, the kind that arrives unbidden at 3AM. Your character, still there. Still watching. Still waiting for something you can't name.
